Post by: earlmarne on May 31, 2013, 03:32:58 PM
Found a den yesterday.had 3 coyotes layin in the sun around it.snuck up n got a shot at a young one at  16 yards.he was curled up n i aimed a little low so i  hit him in the butt.he took my arrow intothe brush n i didnt recover.
The bigger one stayed out at 90 yards.so today i set up some of my light arrows n got sighted to 100.went n watched the den n  the big one was back.i didnt get a shot before it spooked.
They eat my chickens so i want to killem all.question is.will they be back? I was suprised i foundem again today

I was wondering the same thing as I stumbled on a couple dens myself last weekend and shot a few pups. Wonder if they move the dens or not. Maybe take a rifle
If your trying to get rid of a problem.

In my experience with chicken/lamb stealers, as long as the grocery store is open, they'll keep shopping there.  In my case, they get habituated and know when to come in, and keep that up until something forces them to change (usually a small piece of copper coated lead).

It would seem likely to me that they will move their den since you found it, but they will come in for food again as soon as they get hungry...
