Marlin 1895G in 45/70 Gov...
cant wait to take the scope off and go blasting.

Only a max of 5 shots down the pipe.

Nice, that caliber is on my bucket list to own. It'll look great once that scope is gone.

Awesome gun! I would change out the scope mounts asap before it takes your eyebrow off  :chuckle:

Yeah, that scope placement looks dangerous.  Especially with 45/70.

Nice gun though!

I have similar version but a SS Guide Gun. I like the red fiber optic sights. Do yourself a favor and invest in a good "Limb Saver" butt pad.

I've got the SS guide gun with iron sights.  Wife took her first deer with it a few years back.  Great gun

how the heck they even shoot it with the scope that far back, must be why they are selling it, haha.. never shot a 45/70 rifle yet, but its alot of fun to shoot in my contender pistol!

I bet there is some DNA on that scope  :chuckle:

Is there hair/skin and dried blood under the scope cap?

N ice...definitely take the scope off (accident waiting to happen or already happened and that is why it was sold).   :dunno:

Haha, the picture reminds me of a family friend who doesn't know a whole lot about guns (though he thinks he does) and has an attitude of tricking everything out (especially his truck) and owning the biggest baddest thing he can.

He acquired a Marlin 30-30 and proceeded to mount a big fancy tacticool scope with an illuminated reticule...  I think he thought a 30-30 was a 500+ yard gun, not a 200 yard woods/brush gun...  My dad and I had a good laugh after we took him to the range to sight it in.

i got this from my neighbor & deer hunting buddy.
He did get a bloody nose and scope eye, he hasnt shot it since.

I told him the scope is too far back and the scope rings are backwards.
he didnt care, doesnt want to shoot it ever again. did some bartering with him and brought it home.
Best part is what i traded value wise --  im only out $250 for a near brand new $600 rifle setup (Rifle, case, scope, ammo sock Etc...)  :IBCOOL:

Bears beware lol!

As far back as the scope is, it should scope someone really good.  Take pictures of the individual that shoots that.   :yike:

I took this up to my inlaws to show it off & it went home with my Brother in law for $550, now i have a rock cutting saw, grinder, polisher and buffer.

I am going to try making pistol grips with the setup, will be buying a larger saw to cut boulders with though.

Think, Tiger eye 1911 grips.

Who'd you buy that from?  Mr Magoo?  I can see why there's only been less than 5 shots through it.  The prior owner couldn't take a punch.  Bang... ouch.  Bang, Ouch.  Bang... OUch.  Bang... OUCh.  Bang... OUCH.  I'm selling the dang gun.  It's defective.

My brother in laws got that in stainless.  Great gun.
