Anybody know anything about hunting Archery in the Malaga area?

There's some public land up there.  Sometimes can find some elk down on the wildlife area or scattered near the northern border.  Hunted it about 5 years back but didn't connect though saw elk every day.

Really tough tag unless you know the land owners.  There is public land but most the elk the reside in that area stick to the private.  They should be vocal so get out early and listen.....it will be hot so another strategy would be to find water and sit...there is a ton of water so find one with fresh sign.

I could have done it on public land the year I hunted it.  The WDFW would probably rather you get them on private land for the purpose of reducing damage.  If you hunt the wildlife area, the hint would be to hunt from the top.  If you hunt the public forest land, hunt near the boundary.  Once you find the forest ones, don't push them off, pattern them and then set up ambush.  Have to get it done in a week though.
