Title: Got a late archery tag for desert heard it was tough for archery
Post by: nanum on June 19, 2013, 10:20:51 PM
I just drew a late archery tag for the desert unit and this will be the first time in this area. I have hunted elk like crazy with my bow in WA and mostly Idaho but I have not spent much time for mule deer during the late hunt.

I'm looking for some good tips on what type of habitat to start checking. I have mostly packed in and bivy hunted for elk but this will be a new unit and I will want to get away from the roads. Any good tips on where to start my research for this unit? I am planning on calling the local bio and I have read that Dodson Rd would be a starting point.

 Any suggestions?

Thanks
