-
that tag is far from iffy.what weapon is it.high is a no brainer
-
No, that tag is very very iffy, especially rifle tag. The muzzy tag is a slam dunk tho :twocents:

i agree a lot of great bulls up there in a few spots in particular.very large area.may i ask why you are asking for your (FRIEND) why isnt he or she asking?
-
@ stevemiller - Friend isn't a member....so I'm trying to get some tips on the best way to hunt the area. We usually hunt Manashtash so this will be an experience to say the least.
-
correct me if im wrong buglebuster but i dont even see anywhere in which the rimrock unit 364 is open for muzzy. No regular season or special season
-
Rimrock has a special permit season for muzzleloader, no general season.
-
I've been out looking for cows there in sept. seen a big bull. Seen a nice five during the rifle hunt with family he got lucky. You won't need to get high to have fun. :chuckle: theres elk down low too. It's a good unit. The rifle tag is good an archery tag would be good and I don't know what season the special permit gets for muzzy but I always see bulls when I'm there some already tagged and some on the hoof. Have fun!!!
-
When is the special muzzleloader season. Can't find it anywhere and i don't want to ruin sometimes hunt by scouting during there's.
-
1-10th for muzzy. If you go High and deep during rifle season you are gonna see a lot of goats but that could be about it. If there is even a cold rain towards the end of september or early october those cows start transitioning to lower elevations and the bulls follow the cows during the rut. I have seen the high country turn into a ghost town by the second weekend of Sept. The key is to figure out where the end game for their migration is and what route they are gonna take to get there and you will find the elk. Also think pressure routes. Where are the elk gonna head when the shooting starts. How do you guys shoot with a scoped rifle at 18yds? :chuckle:

Not a big bull but a bull none the less. Took this 5X6 opening morning Oct. 1, 2011 Rimrock
