Hey all a ?. Going to Long Beach over the 4th and was wondering if I can rake steamers? For some reason I can't find any info on that season. I think it's year round but not sure. Thanks for the help ;)

Might be a dumb answer on my part but I thought on actual ocean sand beaches there was only razor clams (which the season is already over). :dunno:
http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/shellfish/beaches/MapArea/14/ (http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/shellfish/beaches/MapArea/14/) has an interactive map of Long Beach where you can click each yellow marked beach area and find the current season for oysters and clams. Main Long Beach peninsula has nothing available though since only razor clams.

It's open year round on willapa bay for steamers. Page 127 in the regs. There are a few spots that are closed to clamming- nahcotta-Oyster reserves of willapa bay. Most of willapa bay on the tide lands are privately owned so make sure you are on a public shellfish beach. You wont find steamers on the ocean side.
