Title: One Month 'Til Westport
Post by: Hunterman on July 06, 2013, 09:42:21 AM
Just one month to get everything ready for Westport. The boat is just about done, need to do some work on the trailer, and put the motor on the boat.

I was offered an 85hp Evenrude for the back of the boat, instead of putting on my 48. The problem is that the guy that owns the motor doesn't want to sell it, but would let me barrow it. I'm thinking of passing on the offer, unless he will sell it to me. I really don't want to take a chance on something happening to it. What do y'all think?

I wouldn't

If your motor is reliable I would stick with that. It's a known entity and the 85 isn't. If the 85 goes sideways you might end up putting a bunch of money in it and the hard feelings won't be worth it.
