I realize I haven't posted a big buck picture on here in a while. I shot this one back in August and really loved this buck. I believe you are looking at about a 200" buck with the deep deep forks. He has a little brother that is the same frame but a tad smaller. I wish I could have entered in the photo contest back when it was velvet month...

Seriously, that can't be in this state, can it?

That's a whopper buck. how come the pixilation on the rack looks different from the face or body?

It's jpeg compression artifact, you can see it also in the white branch in the background.
Shows up better in the hard lines of the rack better then the body where the hair hides it a little better.
I believe he down size's them for posting.

one disadvantage of shooting those monster megapixel cameras.
NICE POPE! I'm thinking MT?

That is a really good question xforce. In the original raw there is no pixelation. If I had to guess, I would guess along the lines of what Elkman said. It appears when you have hard edges like that and convert and downsize a large photo to jpg. If it's any consolation, the original rack in person and the raw photo had the velvet glowing in the sunlight.
I wondered why the picture turned out dark when I uploaded it. On my screen, before upload, it look fine. I've also noticed when I upload photos lately some get pixelated?
This one probably wasn't in Washington Elkman... It might not even be from this country...

Here is one of his little brother. The racks are similar, like they are from the same genes. He's narrower and has the crab claw.

Here's a ? Shawn,
When you resize the large version you have, do you do it on PS and choose to resize image and then save it at the size you want to upload?
And when you do this, do you change the DPI also or not?
-
Thats a big little brother.. Hes got great mass on his base.
-
I crop it in PS with the crop tool and a width of 800 px. It looks fine until I upload or save as a jpg.
