I drew kapowsin bull tag going to hunt the muzzleloader season anybody on this site know anybody else that drew tag and what season there hunting?
-
You lucky dog, are you the guy that hunted the same tag last year?? You picked the season I would have taken, have you killed bulls before? What is your goal on size? Man that tag would be fun to hunt!
-
No didn't draw it last year and yes have killed elk before just depends on what Iam seeing would at least like 340 or bigger bull is my goal!
-
If you don't know the area real well there will be some guys on here that would love to help, I saw a dead head from the area that would score around 350 to 360.
-
Know the area good but sightings of big bulls would be welcomed.
-
Been in there quite a bit this preseason, 340 should be no problem with what I have seen lately. Good luck
-
So can you have only one other guys with you on this hunt? It sure would be nice to have a team of good elk hunters for calling and then help with the packing?
-
I'll swap you for my muzzle cow permit? :chuckle:
-
I live 10min from the kapowsin gate, and my season will be spent archery in toutle. so i should be around and if you think you may need any help with anything pm me and we can swap info. Always down to help the fellow hunter.
-
Ya only one other person can go with me at a time I can't wait for october!
-

I do know somebody and "they" are muzzleloading.
-
Found this guy in there a past season and he still had a least a month of growing to do. I am with everyone else when i say a 350 bull is doable! Lets hope they dont close the gates for fire danger but you should be ok with a muzzle tag.
-
I saw a good bull 2 weeks ago on the Eatonville/Lynch Creek side, sure wish I had that tag!!

Westside is trying his best. Feeling the pressure now I'm sure. I took him a couple mornings and we saw 9 bulls one morning and 12 the other. Best bull was 330-340 with a few 300-320. Big difference between the week before the hunt starts and the week of the hunt. Located 6 bulls over 350 and 2 over 370 the 10 days before the hunt but cant dig em out of the brush yet. He is in the right spots just needs a little luck. Anything decent in range and he will be slinging lead now I'm sure. Today may be the day for him.

Seen a dandy bull this morning on the kapowsin side. I will post pics here shortly.
-
Nice. I used to live very close to Kapowsin and saw some nice bulls when I would venture in behind the locked gates. Camp 1 was a good place to start.
-
That is a dandy bull
-
That's a nice one. How was the deer hunting?

Like everything pictures don't do that bull justice. He was a stud! I spotted him driving down a hill to hit a main road and spotted him face on out about 300 yards in thick stuff. The deer hunting wasn't bad, saw 4 does. Hopefully tomorrow something will have some head gear.
-
Saw 5 BULLS, one dandy BULL 340 PLUS and 4 does & a fawn yesterday ,hope i can fill my tag in Nov. in the Hancock white river unit
-
Did you get an elk?

i know what your saying but this bull was from the kapowsin property. What sucks is that will be the next big chunk of land they buy, that will be a very sad day!
-
Had two other hunters in the general area, didn't hear any shooting. Yes that would be a sad day indeed.

Just like the white river unit Hancock property they bought and shooting a lot Bulls out of it, since sept.
-
Not putting down any bulls posted but, this is one of the best tags on the west side- and no pigs are posted?! C'mon guys, it isn't like publicity is going to ruin this hunt! Or did no pigs die this year? Any info out there ?

Not sure what you mean. Mucks have had access to the Hancock White river property for years. Kill a lot of animals there every year. Now they own it.
