So i went to a really busy spot(didnt know it was a busy spot untill to late) to do muzzleloader elk, and well needless to say i hadnt heard very much from anyone about seeing any elk, my first day i got onto some elk and got a bull comming in at about 150-200 yards running, beating, thrashing the brush screaming at me and then i hear BOOM between him and me.......well needless to say i was done for the day there....lol....strike one :'(
then the next day i leave even earlier(3:00am on the trail) hoping to beat the other hunters to the fireld and i get way back in this little sanctuary area that i thought would be good.....after waiting for an hour or two i start hearing some chirps and mews and had a small herd of cows about 70-80 yards away from me in the trees coimming towards me.....granted i was at the very back of a pheasant release sight i wouldnt have ever thought that anyone would have been hunting....but then i was wrong.....
some guys dog got loose and started barking at the elk as i was about to put a shoot on a cow, and scared them away....again no elk.....strike 2..... :bash:
then on my third day i tried hunting a completely different area and when i woke up i had a screaming headache and was really sick felt like throwing up all day.... :puke:.....strike 3.....
so i got no elk....but the rain was fun......and the area was promising, besides the other hundred hunters in the area....
:bash:
anyone else have anything like this happen before?
