I got to shoot with a megetospeed last night! that thing is awesome! found out while shooting 12 rounds with it that my avg speed with 215 berger hybrids in my 300 RUM is 2948 and my standard deviation is 9 with my loads! pretty sweet.
while I was shooting I adjusted my info in my ballistic calculator and I managed to hit the 10x15 inch silhouette target at 1000 3 times in a row!
if you have a chance to shoot with a magnetospeed I highly recommend you do!

They make 2 different models, the V1 & V2. The bayo is bigger on the V2 but other than that I believe they are the exact same. I bought mine shortly after they came onto the market and paid $275 for the V1. They only had the V1 when they were first introduced. I've compared my V1 inline with my dad's Oehler 35 and they read nearly identical, with the V1 Magnetospeed usually always reading 15ish fps faster then my dad's Oehler. I'm assuming this is due to the fact the V1 measures the bullet speed a couple inches from the muzzle, unlike the Oehler which takes its measurements 15ft from the muzzle. I loaned my Magnetospeed to a friend who also owns a Oehler 35 and he did the same in line test with the Magneto and his Oehler 35. His results, using multiple different rifles, mirrored mine. In fact, he liked the ease of use and the fact that weather conditions have zero effect on the Magnetospeed that he has now purchased a new Magnetospeed of his own. The only downside I can see to the Magneto is they can't be used for things like arrows and I don't think they would work on auto pistols where the slide moves around the barrel but I'm sure they would work on auto pistols like a Ruger Mk style 22. These even work on shotguns. If your in the market for a chrono and you don't need it for measuring arrows, the Magnetospeed is easily the best chrono currently on the market.
