I am still on leave for deer hunting until wednesday, since I shot my buck early last week and have it all cut/processed/frozen I decided to wake up a little early and go jump shoot a few ducks this morning.
I headed out to a little pond close to the house. I didnt take decoys or anything, mostly just a scouting trip since I have been concentrating on deer hunting. I saw some mallards on the far side of the pond and took a wide route around the pond and then did the knee walk/belly crawl the last hundred feet or so and then stood up and let them get airborn. I dropped two greenheads and a hen, and then called it a day to come home and finish up some projects.

thats one of the things i love about duck hunting, it doesnt have to be a big planned out thing. it can be just "hey lets go"

:yeah: And if you kill something your day isnt full. Sure makes you wish you were home huh?
