Title: some of our vacation pics
Post by: BOOM!! on July 20, 2013, 10:40:26 PM
I finally broke down and bought a DSLR, the Nikon 3200 kit from Costco. I haven't down much photography since my Nikon 6006 got stolen about 10 years ago. I am not sure I bought the right camera yet but I like the small size and it did everything I wanted it to do. I only used the 18-55 kit lens and none of these pictures have been edited except re-sizing them.

First pic, NYC night sky line hand held 1/10th sec. utilizing VR

The one of NYC is not bad at all, actually, its pretty good. With a little editing, the second could be, too!!!

Don't ask me what that image is in the window of the middle picture just above cause I don't know. Here are a couple more from NY. I love how the color of the rust and the signs just pops. The other is of the new towers.

Looks like the bat photos were from Guanico?

Ventana is a great view huh?  here is one of my buddy that I took when I was there.

Love the caves in PR!

Thank you, I'm still not sure if this is the camera I want, I was thinking that the 18-55 lens would be great for all my needs but I didn't realize that with a crop sensor an 18 is really somewhere around 30-35 which isn't wide enough for scenery. I am looking at the Nikon D600 full sensor for around 2 grand and I really like what I am reading about it. What do you guys think?

I love the pics where you focus on a small object and blur out the background, it looks really neat.
