I installed the "sabotloader" sight set up on my bighorn. I would like to get the green fiber optic for the front. Is there a complete front avail, or do I change the rod somehow?
For my "old" eyes, the green shows up WAY better at first light and dusk than the red does

you should be able to just change out the fiber rod just be sure you get the same size green rod most archery shops have the rods for the optic bow sight where I got mine last hope it helps
-
Go to brownells and order the rods online. Most archery shops do not carry the larger diameter rifle sight rods.
-
OK, I'll break out the caliper and measure it

Mine measured .065". Bought .060 rod from Brownells. Works great!

Did you also use a hood on the factory front sight? I would like to add the hood but don't want to replace the sight this close to the season.

:yeah: Also, Sportsmans carrys a 4 pack of replacements, but there is different diameters so what they carry may or may not work for you.

yes, I use the hood. I bought a green sight earlier, but I didn't want to mess up my aim, so only changed the rod. GTG

What hood did you use ( on stock sight?), did you buy local or via the interweb? I was looking at doing the same but changing from a green fiber to red. My green just doesn't seam to have the brightness I would like. I cant say red will be better up I am trying.
