just checking to see if this scanned pic works.. huntnphool has tried to help me resize but i cant even get it e-mail to him.. if it works i'll post the story

Attachments of PDF Files work. They just don't show "inline" like a png, bmp, jpeg, or jpg file does. You have to click on the file and download it.
I see the deer with the rifle layed up againt it. Now let's hear a story :hello:

Sorry Bone Collector, the noise on that image was driving me nuts! :) Story?

hadn't been to this place for 20 years due to the road being grown up and the nasty x-country path to get there. but i decided to hit it opening day. took 3.5 hr of walking through reprod straight up the hill to get the the broken meadows. the snow was crunchy. i was able to stay quiet by bouncing from rock to rock since the snow had melted of the top of the. i spotted some movement out to my left about 100 yd. then i saw the hind legs of a deer move on through" i thought i also saw scent glands". but given the area i was in and the glands i figured it was a buck so i fired 4 shots into the brush and killed it. just kiddin. no i took up a rest and waited for him to come out 5min... 10 min.. nothing. i could see a false ridge in between us that he probally escaped on. the wind was working fairly well with me so i decided to go directly after him instead of cutting him off at the pass. i knew it would be loud going across the snow, but I've had several over the years just come out to see what coming if they can't smell you. and this plan worked. about 50yrd into the snow i looked up the hill to see him gazing at me. i through the scope on him and decided i wanted him so i brought the x-hairs to his shoulder and touched one off. he wheeled and went through some brush. i didn't figure i missed but he didn't drop. i headed up there. about halfway up i spotted something strange. deer legs sticking straight up behind this blowdown.... SEASON OVER.... but not the packing. it took me a couple hr to take him apart. i hauled out the backstraps, heart, front shoulders, neckmeat, head and cap. got back to the truck at 5. got a buddy to head in the next day to help pack out the hind quarters. 7 to 2:30 that day..... beautiful and fullfilling hunt for 08

here's a couple more pic's. the one with him by the log is the position i found him in. from my view heading up the hill all i could see was three deer legs sticking up behind the log. i posted my bear pic's earlyer this year, posting my deer pic's now. hopefully i can post my first elk pic's here in a couple weeks.. if anyone wants to help i've got a post in the elk section looking for info, usually dont bother people for info....but like i've said, never been to this place before and never killed an elk. happy hunting
