Title: Is this a Wolf?
Post by: Elkslayer on July 31, 2013, 09:21:28 AM: This is a picture from my bro-in-laws trail cam up in Elk about 7-8 miles from the Idaho border.
I'm not sure what to think on this. The body looks more like bear to me but the head and ears definatley look canine.

lets see, it's spring time. A wolf would have already shedded off mats of hair.
every wolf I ever seen the head is almost too large for the body whereas this pic is the other way around
wolf doesn't have the round rump, or round shoulders, or thick legs either.

That pic is so far away from being a wolf I can't fathom how people could be confused :dunno:

Post by: MrsTurkeyFeather on August 13, 2013, 10:25:01 AM: Im voting bear as well...yes the ears appear more pointed, but the face structure, from the ears toward the nose, doesnt move inward as sharply as I think it would if it were a canine skull versus a bear...plus in the front shoulder area he/she looks to be a bit "bow legged", again, more bear looking to me :twocents:
