Title: T/C Encore trigger job?
Post by: JoeE on August 02, 2013, 02:58:53 AM
Has anybody done a trigger job on their encore? I was looking at the DIY kit from Bellmtc but not sure if its a task that I want to take on. Is it something that can be easily done or should I send it in to somebody? I'm afraid of messing something up since my gunsmith skills are lacking.

She's a bit stiff isn't she! I always thought it was too hard to pull but my small hands I thought were the biggest reason. I bought a trigger spring kit from midway USA for my browing rifle, maby you should call them and ask about the t/c? Good luck, I really liked that gun... :'(

Actually I'm looking at doing the trigger job in my Encore rifle...if it makes a big difference then I'll do the pistol I got from you next. So far I've put about 20 rounds through the pistol and I'm really liking it. As long as I'm prepared and hanging on the recoil isn't too bad. That's gonna be my backpacking gun this year and maybe if I do any hunting off a mountain bike. I'm also taking it to Alaska next year to throw in my pack as a backup in case something happens to my rifle. I'll definitely get some use out it! Did you get your binos?

Yes I did, I ended up buying the 10x40  slc's. I found them on eBay for 1,000.  They were only 4 years old and in perfect condition! I actually liked them better than the el's, the el's to me had a bubble effect when I looked through them. I'm very happy with the slc's, thanks. Have fun with that girl!

Bellm TC's is the bee's knees. Go for it.
I've got a few Bellm goodies in mine. Get the #2 hinge pin from him too. I bought the kit with 2 sizes but if I recall, the #2 fits most of them.

It's working out well. That rail is gone now in favor of a Tally lightweight 1 piece. The scope sits a little lower. It's right about perfect now.

No, but apparently I could have. The guy that put the brake on the barrel did the trigger. He said it was very easy. The hinge pin, I'm sure you've got that figured out by now. I did put the heavier hammer spring in myself that Bellm sells. That took less than 10 minutes, and I also have his hammer extension on it.

I put in a #2 Bellm hinge pin already. I think I'll get the trigger kit from Bellm too and give it a whirl. I've read about the heavier hammer spring and hammer extension but I don't understand what they do. What do they do to improve the gun?

The hammer extension just makes it easier to grab the hammer if there's scope clearance issues. The heavier spring prevents misfires. Bellm recommends it if you're using a hammer extension. If you read around online, you'll find misfire issues associated with the added weight from a hammer extender. I would only use the Bellm extender. It has 3 set screws to keep it tight which is what you want.

If I may, www.eabco.com (http://www.eabco.com) does Encore/ single shot stuff too.

I did...But the pack came with a #1 and a #2 so I assumed you didn't want the #1. I'm going to order another #2 for my pistol and I'll order an extra one then. I had to see what fit first, I didn't forget about you!
