Who uses 2 stroke oil in there diesel fuel? I've heard it's good for the 24v Cummins, with the vp44.
-
Some folks say it quiets their noisy pumps. I run a pint about every other tankful. Really don't notice any difference but I figure it won't hurt to have the extra lube.
Just buy the good stuff! I hear tell the cheap crap can leave carbon buildup

Why not just run a good fuel additive like stanadyne :dunno:
-
I researched this awhile back, and found an interesting article that actually did viscocity testing on different additives, 2 stroke oil in the fuel ranked very low for lubrication, actually worse then no additive at all if I remember right.
We use to run power service on our fleet of cummins back when I was doing construction, probably ran those trucks a combined 400k miles and never had a pump failure. thats what goes into my powerstroke now, though im sure there is better, ps is found very easily and not to expensive.

The best thing you can do for your VP44 is toss on a Fass or Air Dog kit to supply the VP with plenty of fuel. And a fuel pressure gauge.
Stanadyne or Power Service every other tank is better than 2 stroke oil.

Thanks guys, Ill try that stuff. I put a raptur 100 on it.

I use transmission fluid and 2cycle oil as additive.
