My Rem 700 Stock Needs Help.  What Is The Best Way To Clean Out The Checkering?

  Any Certain Products To Suggest?

Some chemical finish stripper applied over the checkered area, then a stiff bristle tooth brush or simuliar (non-metal bristle) and brush clean.  Shouldn't damage the checkering and will get the old finish off and down to bare wood.

I have seen several Remington's with the checkering filled level with finish.  looks ugly I vote for a nice hand rubbed oil when you get it stripped argie1891
