It is my mission in life to get back to successful hunting this season. Been too many years since I have been in the field. If you know any private land I am 100% respectful and would love to hunt this season in a good area.

Minot Peak is good, Capitol Forest is good. For deer anyway. I can't really say that there's one area that's better than another. Units with a lot of private timberland are probably your best bet. The worst units are those that are predominantly National Forest, due to the lack of logging.

The Satsop GMU would be another one to consider. It's not the best unit for elk, and either are the other previously mentioned GMU's. For the best elk hunting you'll want to go further south, or further west or northwest.

Check the harvest reports available on the WDFW website. The units with the highest elk harvest are the ones you'll want to concentrate on.

With deer, the best thing is just pick a small area and get to know it really well.
