I went out to my boat yesterday afternoon to hook up for a quick trip on the Snohomish and noticed that 3 fishing rods were missing. I have lived at this house for almost 5 years and have never had anything stolen or messed with. We have even gone to bed without closing the garage door a couple of times and haven't had anything messed with. I guess I got a little too comfortable and complacent. Must have been some kids doing a grab and go because they didn't go in the boat or try to take anything electronic. They just grabbed the 3 rods and reels out of the rocket launchers. Luckily they were older but still, they were mine and now I have to replace them. God forbid I ever catch someone on my property steeling my stuff! To ad insult to injury I hit my new 120 quart cooler as I was backing in and broke the lid off! GRRRRR! I hit a submerged log the last time out on the river, no obvious damage done. Maybe I should just park the boat for a while and try to turn this bad karma around. Maybe I should go to church or something, but I'm afraid I'd burst into flames as I pass through the door! Thanks for listening, I'll leave a $100 on the desk by the door.

Sucks I know. My place has been great too. Think when I get home Ill take the 4 Scotty 1106's off the boat and put em back in the garage,

Hey man, it could be worse. Had a whole boat stolen outa my driveway last fall. Had it locked up and everything.
Sent from my space modulator.

My cousin had his 20' sled stolen from his driveway in Bonney lake a couple years ago, had a sweet Yamaha jet out board on it. I miss that boat, probably got cut up for scrap.

Sorry to hear about this, Ripper. I hate thieves.

That sure stinks.. Sorry to hear
-
Ripper, be sure to report it. Locally, it will get documented and maybe an increase in focus for LE, nationally, no more lies about how our society is so much better now since Obama in office...

That sucks man. Just yesterday my daughter was walking with a young friend (10years old). A green mazda pulled up, driver got out and pushed the little girl down and stole her Iphone.
-
Sorry to hear :'(

We may live in 'Mayberry' USA, but I keep tellin my boys to lock their trucks when parked in the driveway. We've been so so lucky over the years here but all it takes is once to remind us that there are dirtbags in the world.

It don't make any difference if they were old rods, or brand new ones, they were yours :bash: I would be willing to bet that it was some young kids, seeing that non of the electronics were messed with. We need to get back to the old days when kids were taught respect for others property.

ALL THE TWEAKERS LOVE HUMPY SEASON THEY ARE OUT WATCHING FOR THE FISHERMAN TO LAUNCH THERE BOATS TO BRAKE IN YOUR RIGS. :bash: :bash: IT HAPPENS EVEN MORE DURRING THE HUMPY SEASON. So all of use should watch out for each other. If you see some people off loading into another rig early morning. I might just Q it and also report all brake in's. Even if they didn't take anything. It helps to get the Police to patrol more often. Maybe they will put cameras up in the parking lot some day. They have been hitting rigs as you leave early in the morning. I stopped launching at Langus boat ramp. If I do use the ramp I wait until 9:00 am when the rangers start.

Well if it makes you feel any better, you ain't the only one who goes through a stretch like that. I have a feeling you'll upgrade just a tad on the rods and have them slimy in no time!

Every time I read these I up my security, thanks for sharing. Headed out to put all away and lock up.

This makes me sick to my stomach. I have tweaker neighbors and so far they haven't messed with my stuff but it's only a matter of time. i've done all the same things you mentioned. Hell, i left the garage door open while we were in the process of moving in, with a bunch of my stuff in the garage easy pickins and nobody touched it. Dodged a bullet there. Where in marysville do you live?
-
Ripper, so frustrating. You have been generous to others on the forum and then something like this. I hope if anyone does this at our house that I am around to greet them.
-
I don't live that far from you and I never used to lock my doors either. Marysville and Arlington aren't what they used to be. Lot of Tweekers around now. Even way out in the woods where I live. Be nice to catch them though, pretty sure I'd feel my life was in danger being disabled and all...... I hate thieves.

I have to agree, Marysville and the surrounding cities are not what they were when we moved out here 23 years ago. One thing that we have done to help feel a little better has been to surround ourselves with friends and family. I figured the more eyes and ears I have out here, the odds are in our favor(fingers crossed).

Sorry to hear it bro.

Run down to the Goodwill in town, buy a few cheapy whatever rods, put them back in your boat, just coat the handles in rat poison first!
Thieves SUCK!!! :bash:

Yeah our area isn't what it used to be. The Casino has caused a lot more crime since it went in. In my old house, right off 88th st, we would occasionally have people sleeping in their cars out on the street after a hard night at the Casino. I also knocked on a few windows of people having sex at 4:30 in the morning when I was leaving for work. Some people, I swear. Now I live out by 67th and 100th st. I don't get any Casino traffic out here, just common thief's I guess. I have a feeling I will be upgrading, that's something I like to do! Kola, your life jacket is still in my boat, I just saw it yesterday. Thankfully it didn't get stolen.

We're on 116th and occasionally get idiots staggering by from the casino. My daughters friend was sleeping over a couple of weeks ago and someone stole her bike from in front of my truck (could not see the bike from the road. Bike was between the front of the truck and the garage).
We have a security system in the house with multiple camera's I can view on my smart phone. I'm just waiting for the day I get to catch someone trying to steal from us. The police had better get there fast, because I will be kicking their ass until they do.
