Title: grizz trick 2s for elk?
Post by: earlmarne on August 23, 2013, 08:11:02 PM
im having a dilemma.i played hell getting these things to fly right.but with the help of bullblaster i got them flying like perfect to 50.im going to run them out to 80 this weekend.hopefully with a little wind to see what is what.
now i have some shuttle ts.which have always flown amazing, and some wac ems.but they both just seem sissified compared to the grizz tricks.
im pulling 70 lbs at 30.50 inch draw so i would think i will have the oomph needed to blow through an elk with the extra cutting surface.i am building some 475 grain deep impacts to put behind them and have some big games i am building out to 575.have not yet decided which i will use.
i am going up to rimrock this year for late season.as i went there elk hunting as a youth and was always in the elk but am unfamiliar with the area due to it being so long ago.i am pretty positive i can find a target.i guess i am just worried as to making for a fast kill and am wanting some advise from those that have been at this a lot longer than myself.

just hit the spot, I've killed 25 ish elk with a bow , all decent broad heads will work. I'd stick with the lighter arrow it leaves you a little more yardage error . the one thing I'd really lean against with a compound is a two blade they just don't leave good blood trails the fat plugs the hole. don't hold too close to the shoulder give your self a small amount of room for error left to right.
