dewatto or tahuya rivers when they open or the quilicene river is only about 40 minutes away and there is fish there now. the mouth of chico creek and minter creek in the key peninsula opens in november. there are also fish in gorst right now. pinks and kings there

i hate the nets too but for once i dont mind seeing them in gorst. i spoke directly with a guy who was with the pogy club , not sure of the spelling , and he informed me that the salmon that show up in gorst creek were totally gone at one point and that the tribes got together and repopulated that area with salmon and that they meet a quota for fish and eggs every year now and let the rest to the sport anglers and the hatchery up on old belfair highway. Thought that was pretty cool.
I am well aware not everywhere is like that like hood canal , puyallup river , etc , where there is a serious over netting problem and that i hate with a passion. I am not a net supporter , just thought the story i heard in gorst was a respectable one.

Drive up to Point No Point, walk out east past the light house, cast buzzbombs or Kastmasters over the drop off and into the rip.
