Title: Need a reg clarification
Post by: Redbeard on August 25, 2013, 05:37:52 PM: As a soon to be resident I was looking over the regs. The question I have is can you claim more than one transport tag for deer. Or let me ask this way, can I bow hunt and rifle hunt in the same year or can you only claim one method?

Post by: Dan-o on August 25, 2013, 05:41:41 PM: When you go buy your license, you'll have to declare only 1 weapon type (Modern Riffle, Muzzle loader, or archery).

Then that's the only season you can hunt.

EXCEPTION: There is a drawing for multi-season tags that lets you hunt all three seasons (with the appropriate weapon) but that drawing has happened for this year.

And you are allowed one deer per year.

EXCEPTION: you were drawn for a "2nd deer" permit which are antlerless tags given out by drawing in certain areas. The additional tag costs around $60 extra.
