As a soon to be resident I was looking over the regs. The question I have is can you claim more than one transport tag for deer. Or let me ask this way, can I bow hunt and rifle hunt in the same year or can you only claim one method?

When you go buy your license, you'll have to declare only 1 weapon type (Modern Riffle, Muzzle loader, or archery).
Then that's the only season you can hunt.
EXCEPTION: There is a drawing for multi-season tags that lets you hunt all three seasons (with the appropriate weapon) but that drawing has happened for this year.
Good luck.

Thanks for the reply

:yeah:
And you are allowed one deer per year.
EXCEPTION: you were drawn for a "2nd deer" permit which are antlerless tags given out by drawing in certain areas. The additional tag costs around $60 extra.

I think the other exception is if you were to win any of the raffle hunts.

Agreed.
But I think all of the raffles are done for this year, too.

You can buy modern firearm tag and hunt that season with any legal weapon
