Check with the Cowlitz Wildlife Area office in Morton. Portions of the shoreline are owned by Tacoma Power and should be public land open for hunting.

There are also parts of the lake that are state park

anyone ever whack any up there?

Great question. There used to be a permanent duck blind set up on the small island on the big part of the lake. Not sure if its still there. I'll bet you can hunt it where you are not on private property and far enough away from any houses or structures. Not sure it would be real good though. Never see that many big groups of ducks and geese on it.

THANKS GUYS ive always wondered bout this lake its a cool lake ive been thinking bout trying some of the islands and also up the river where the tall bridge when u first enter mossy rock on that river theres some huge river openings into small ponds almost

Spent the weekend boating on Mayfield and the duck blind is still on that small island on the South side of the big part of the lake. Spent part of the day swimming right next to it. Looks like it would be a great spot to set up, plus you already have the blind. Would love to hear how you do if you end up hunting there this fall.

The blind is first come first served so have a backup plan if you get beat to the blind.
