Hey guys my name is Tosh, I live in Coquitlam... 27 and into sports and the outdoors. I have just recently started hunting 2 years ago with some friends and have yet to bag a large animal. My parents have just recently bought a place at Whatcom lake(take possession in April 2014) and I plan to head down there as much as possible. I have a few questions..
1- Being a Canadian am I allowed to hunt in the u.s?
2- How is the deer hunting with rifles and What areas around whatcom have been known to have some bucks
3- And perhaps wouldn't mind meeting up with somebody in the area to gain some local knowledge and potentially do some future hunts

I’m sure that you will be welcomed here just as warmly as we Americans are welcomed in your country.

Why hunt here, when you have all the vast wilderness in Canada?

Alright will do, Thanks for the warm welcome

You are allowed to hunt in the US, but there is a procedure. You would probably be able to get more information about it from the WDFW. Their website is www.dfw.wa.gov (http://www.dfw.wa.gov). Their info number is 360 902-2200. Best of luck and welcome to Hunting-Washington.com!

Twos,
I do not know the rules for Canadian non-resident hunting in Washington, but I would be surprised if the hunting here is anything compared to what you have in Canada?
I have been hunting within 20 miles of the border for about 25 years now and it seems to be deteriorating every year with more people being crammed into less hunting area and less hunting days.
I do not know what opportunities you have up North of the border, but it would be depressing to hear it is worse then what we have down here, LOL
Hopefully someone with more knowledge about international hunting will post up.
Welcome to the site,
