I would like to get into painting my own plugs. I have hand painted a few, but would like to pick the brain of someone who uses an airbrush. i.e. what paints are best, what airbrush is best, what 'base plug color' is best to start with if you want to paint no 30 hotshots or K-16 kwikfish?
Thanks,
Rick

There is a ton of info on google

Thanks Button,
I found a few of those. I guess what I would like to hear is 'real world' experience from people on the board to see if they have any hints that will speed up the learning curve. The one that I am really struggling with is how to prep a plug for painting. If you get a No 30 hotshot or K-16 (for example) if you can just paint over them, is there a particular 'base color' that is easier to paint over, etc. Seems like I get a lot of runniness in my paints when I paint them by hand.

Grey primer is what I've seen guys use.

I just paint over them. I have a couple that I've painted 5-6 times . From fish warring it of. I've air brushed some most just small brush.
