Title: Dang Salmon
Post by: Hunterman on September 01, 2013, 11:40:05 AM
Well I've been bitten by the "Salmon Fishing" bug AGAIN  :bash: I thought that I was over salmon fishing, and was happy with bottom fishing   but then I got a bigger boat, and fished salmon with buckhorn2 on his new boat  (pics on Huntermans Westport Salmon thread).  Now don't get me wrong, with dang near 50 years of saltwater fishing I have caught my share of salmon, both commercially and sport, but for the last few years I targeted mostly sea bass, ling, and Cabazon.  The big salmon I got this year with buckhorn2 (42lbs.) is not my biggest (68lbs) but was the best representation
of a king.  I should have put him on the wall  :bash: ( I still might get a reproduction of him someday). I think that is were the bug got me again  :bash:

So know I'm planning on another trip to Westport to hit some more salmon, and maybe some sea bass. I'm even planning on more trips to the coast next year to target more salmon  :bash: Hell I might have to get me a Columbia River stamp and fish Ilwaco again  :bash:

It seams like a person just can't win anymore  :yeah:

Love the feeling of a big Nook yanking ya around.  Nothing better than some BBQ'd salmon.
