Ok, it's day one of the Peaches Ridge Muzzy season and this guy comes barging in on you.
What do you do?
-
I have that tag, if you don't want it let me know!! I'd shoot it.
-
Shoot the Elk!
-
Bang!
-
Drop the hammer.
-
Pass
-
Pass on day one. He's young and not that big.

I agree for the most part unless I had tons of scouting in and cameras that weren't showing much if anything bigger. He is a decent young bull but it would be tough to pull the trigger the first morning.
-
I would probably take him. I ended up with a spike on the last day of the season with the same permit, in 2005 I believe it was.
-
Hey Bobcat, how many bulls did you pass on during your hunt?

I didn't pass up any. We just never got within muzzleloader range of any bulls.
-
This is the bigest bull to show so far. I swapped cards yesterday and found that the batteries had died on August 11th. There were 2300 pictures, and 3/4 of them were at night. I have a feeling that the flash bured up the batteries.
I was bummed that I didnt have pics from the last couple of weeks. I'm hoping that more salty bull will appear.
But I'll have to be honest, this bull steps out on day one, Bang! Whe would make a dandy first elk.
-
Don't pass on anything you would shoot the last day :)
-
SHOOT!
-
i helped a friend last year with that tag shot at one about that size n missed. i left and the elk that he harvested was tiny id shoot that

-

Naw, shoot him, stock the freezer. On to the next animal.
-
If its a first Elk you shoot!
If your looking for a trophy let him walk. (You probably have a couple under your belt if your trophy hunting).
-
I would shoot it!
-
Depends on what else you have been seeing in there. If you don't have a bigger one nailed down, I'd be shooting...
-
Bang.
-
Having never shot an elk and being my 1st time, I wouldn't hesitate.
-
Only a trophy hunter would pass on that bull ....since I am not one :chuckle: I WOULD KILL IT  :yeah:
-
I would shoot...i never shot a bull elk before so I wouldn't be able to pass for somehting bigger")
-
Shoot'em! I took a spike with my bull tag last year. First bull we saw once the season started, day 5 of hunting. I would have loved to have seen one like that!
-
Ill only shoot one if he looks like this

If he makes you happy shoot him. I wouldn't shoot, I have no problem passing a bull early if it's not to my standards, and am happy shooting a dink on day 4 or 5. As long as you are happy that's all that matters. Good luck on your hunt. That unit has potential to produce a very nice bull.
-
I would be shooting.
-
Shoot him then spend the rest of the month coho fishing. :chuckle:
-
Dump him over right where he stands
-
Go home early and eat backstrap. :chuckle:
-
Looks like a beauty to me. No way I could pass...That's just me.
