So I am brand new to this whole hunting thing. Something about the outdoors has grabbed me since an early age. My dad has no interest in this stuff at all. Went out a bunch last year for deer and a little for elk. This year I have a couple more days off to try again. Still worried tag soup is in my future but the season is early.
So here is my question, every time I am out deer or elk hunting it seems like I run into a bear in the brush. Not seeing it but definitely hearing it. What is the best way to get the darn thing out of the woods and into bow range? Maybe like a calf call?

find some bear sign. sit off of it with a wounded rabbit call. I'd be in there with a buddy while calling but that's just me. We had a bear come in growling a few weeks ago to a wounded rabbit call. we never saw it but what a rush!
