Anyone Deer hunt this unit regularly or at all? Not asking "where", just want to know if I am wasting my time heading up there... Something local and easy to get up in during the week... Anyone?

Hunt low
Finney creek area.

I spent around 6 hours one day just driving roads in there and never saw anything bigger than a squirrel.

Wasn't hunting just looking around. Lots of poaching in there. Maybe if you get way off the road.

I've been up the Cavanaugh Side and never seen anything but a Big Tom Cougar. I've been up the back side of Finney Creek (where you come off 530 by Whitehorse) and again, big ass cougar and a few grouse!

I used to hunt bear with my grandpa when I was a kid, somewhere low, and surrounded by meadows and along either a river or large creek. I believe it was the Sauk River, but I was real young. We only ever saw deer in there. But I'm not sure where exactly it was at.
