Title: Lucky arrow display!
Post by: OutdoorFreak97 on September 04, 2013, 05:57:28 PM
So I had a few arrows (first kill, first robin-hood and some other ones to fill in the empty spots for the time being) laying around and want a place to put them

Here's what I came up with.
Took me about 6 hours (including glue dry time)
Made it with bamboo flooring, has 14 slots that I hope to have filled with bloodied (cleaned so the don't draw flies :P) arrows

Considering putting holes between the slots for broadhead's but i'm still thinkin' about it.

I can explain how I made it if anyone wants the design or dimensions :D

Sorry for the crappy phone picture, I can post better ones if ya'll wanna see more

Tell me what you think!

Looks good man  How'd ya cut the slots?
First I measured the spacing - 2"
then the depth 3/4"
Clamped both pieces together to save drill time, drilled out all the holes with a 3/8" bit after drilling port holes with an 1/8" bit

Set the chop saw the 45*
Cut each side individually after using a square set at 45* to mark the insides of each hole
took more time but the clamps would have been in the way of the fence on the saw.

Used a rasp the rough out the cuts that didn't end up being exactly 3/8" wide
Then ripped a piece of wood 1/16 under 3/8" to allow for sandpaper thickness
Rounded both edges of one side of the piece of wood with a sander to get the inside of the holes
Used 80 grit paper to sand every one of the slots making them look nice.
