Hi everyone.Does anybody knows about public hunting access around Pomeroy.Wanna know if there is any?Or where i can find out about that.Thank you
-
Very few and far between, people that know of decent tend to keep tight lips.
-
National forest to the south but deer numbers are much lower. Pretty much everything in or around town is private.
-
NF land south of there. But you'll be hard pressed to find any game. Bigfoot and wolves have eaten all the elk, deer, and bear. Just ask Woodchuck or Pathfinder. :sry:

I am not trying to piss in your campfire, but if you don't have permission to hunt private land you will be wasting allot of fuel for very little accessible land. I do hunt that area, and I wouldn't bother if we did not have family friends who farm there.

What ya hunting, and when ya looking to go? Big game tough to get permission, birds might not be too bad. Head south to the Blues/National Forest.
-
My thoughts as well. Pomeroy is mostly private. There is some forest service, (Tucannon).
-
Thanks for info fellas.i was worried about that.I geuss ill try some diff area(s) for deer hunting

There are some chunks of F&G land on the Tucanan that I've seen a few deer around. Come opening day of rifle season though, I bet you see more hunters than deer. There is also a bunch of National Forest land with whitetail and Mule deer on it to the south, but the higher you go, the less deer you will likely see. There are a lot of people up there too that come from all over the state.

Pashok,
Read through this

Select the GMU's on the left. Might give you an idea as to harvest numbers and some GMU's with public access

There's public land down there, just need to do some research.
-
There are also some very nice bucks in the N.F. you have to work for them though... get off of the road 1/4-1/2 mile and you won't see another hunter.
-
Hey kid. You live in snohomish.............. I know I'll regret this. But PM me. I have questions and maybe some advice.

i was down there working coverage(dnr fire) while the fire by goldendale was going. we saw just a handful of bucks and does. lots of hunting by written permission and some public ground, very neat country down there for sure.
