Post by: D-Rock425 on September 06, 2013, 06:45:25 PM: Story time. Since h20 was sleeping in again do to rain stang and I made plan for the days hunt. Stang was going to drop in one ridge and to the bottom I was going to come in from other side and meet at the bottom at 11ish. So I start down the hill find a good spot to sit for a few minutes. I let out a few cow calls and hear them coming up hill right to me. First elk I see is a big bull then I see another coming up in front of him. She hits the trail side hilling right below me I had ranged trail at 40yds but shoot distance was 35yds according to my range finder. I drew early and when she hit my shooting lane I let it fly I heard arrow hit but didn't see it. She runs down the hill and to my left bull following. They never new I was even there. My shot was a little back and she went 150 or 200yards. I wwaited about 1 1/2 before I started on the here trail. Stang came up and met me shortly after I found her and we got to the knife work. My dad and h20 came down with pack boardsand off we went.
