Title: Elk area
Post by: steeliedrew on September 11, 2013, 10:29:45 AM
Just wondering what it means to have an "Elk Area" within a GMU? Is this somewhere I can't go without a special draw tag or does it just mean its a bunch of private property or something?

Just curious.  Same goes for "deer areas"

Thank you.

Its just a small area within a unit.  Back of the game regs lays out the elk and deer area boundaries.  Most are special draw but I think there is some general season areas as well.

All but a few are open general season, then have some kind of draw for permits outside of the general time frame.
