It took a couple of tries and a fair bit of searching, but I finally got my wirehaired Griffon!
I took my son with me last Saturday to pick her up from Idaho Wells Griffons in Caldwell, ID. I didn't tell my boy where we were going, I just woke him up at 4:30 and said we were going on a road trip. We drove for 8 hours before I told him where we were going. :chuckle: My son hasn't stopped smiling since we picked her up.
The kids decided to name her Pepper.

She's an absolute sweethart. Whenever somebody reaches down to pet her she just leans into them and soaks up the love. She doesn't bark, we already have her trained to ring a bell on the back door when she wants outside, and she hasn't eaten the cats, birds, or pet rabbit that all live in the house. As soon as she found the rabbit though she went on point and wouldn't move until I put the rabbit in one of the bedrooms. :chuckle:
I couldn't be happier with her.

Looks like a winner to me. Looks like you, your son and your dog are going to have some great times together.
I always say how can you love a dog that can't grow a beard?

The bells are the way to go. I have been doing that with all of my dogs for quite sometime. It only sucks at 3am when they just want to see whats outside.
Very pretty girl. I have a GWP and love their beards. Congrats and hope she becomes a great hunter.

Great looking dog!! Congrats

Great looking pup. Now it is time to train the pup and the kid, as bird hunting takes hold in your house :IBCOOL:. This should be a great thread to follow over the next few years. Keep us posted on the training and successes of the entire family.

That is one handsome pup!

We took her out "hunting" for a bit this morning. We walked a couple of miles and got her good and muddy.
I decided to see how she does around gun shots so I had my son hold her back about 30 yards from me while I fired 2 shots from the 22 pistol into a stump. She got all excited and came running over to see what the noise was. We did this 4 times during the walk. I'll let her get a little closer each time we go out. I think she'll do pretty well.

Hi Andrew,
Congrats on the new WPG, I've just become an owner of one myself, though I'm still waiting on delivery, I'll be getting the pup on the 26th, I can't wait :)
