runs fine at low rpms but when you give it some gas it loses all power annd it will kill it if you dont let off, does anyone no what is going on? in smokes quite a bit too so is it getting to much fuel? if so how would i fix that?

How long was it sitting without running? My first thought is sounds like restrictions in the carb, probably the main jet.Pull out the spark plug and check the color of the plug, black and wet means too much fuel or maybe too rich of a mixture. Could also be a spark plug dying, that is usually the easiest and first thing I will try with a 2 smoke.

Tell us about the bike, did it work well before? What yr bike? Possible broken reed (between the carb and cylinder). Quick/cheap to fix.
-
sounds to me like the spark plug is fouled. Get a new one and it should run fine again.
-
take the carb apart and blow it out , freash plug and most likely you will be good to go.
-
Sounds like an intake problem. Try running it without a filter and see if it improves.
If so, replace filter. If not, the other suggestions are good.

If you go taking the carb off, make sure to check your reed's. They should be laying flat against the surface, no gaps. If they are not touching, you can flip them, it will last a bit longer, but plan on getting new ones if they aren't flush.

Give it a 2 stroke tune up. Take off the carb, clean it thoroughly, carb cleaner or soaking in straight gas for awhile including blowing the jets out and cleaning the slide/needle. As the last poster said check your reeds as well. Clean and oil the air filter and make sure it is sealing well. Put in a new plug properly gapped. Fresh gas, not sure of your mix but a lifetime of riding and racing experience has taught me that 32:1 is the way to go.
It sounds like your air/fuel mix isn't right and it is getting either too much fuel or too little air so I would just take steps to correct both and it can help keep you from chasing the problem around for too long. Unless your air cleaner is really really dirty it is usually in the carb.
If that doesn't do the trick a finicky 2 stroke will drive you nuts since they are usually really simple. Reeds? gaskets? Rings? Start with a tune up 90% of the time it does the trick. Not too much to those engines but will run like crap if one little thing is wrong.

:yeah: I have also had units run with a scored piston\cylinder that will do the same thing. Alot of good advice here.

If it has some time on it you might check the exhaust too. While your hands are dirty you might take the baffle out of the exhaust stinger and clean it too. A wire brush or a bit of heat from a torch will burn off the caked on oil and let breathe better.
