A lot of scouting and preperation went into this hunt in the pre season. The second day of the season it payed off. I was in the stand by 4:15 and the wait began. Around 6 pm i had a doe with twins come by and mill around. It was fun to watch the fawns play for a while. They decided somethin was funny and left at about 6:30ish. At 6:45 the twins came back and started sniffin around. They kept looking over their shoulder then like a bolt of lighting they were out of there. All of a sudden i heard a buck thrashing his antlers on some sage brush. Next thing i know there are 4 legal bucks 30 yards from me just in the timber line. They all looked like they wanted to come out but we all know how hesitant they can be. I slowly judged all 4 bucks and found the one. He turned and started working his way down the edge of the timber, closing the distance to 23 yds. He stood there and stared for about 10 minutes, wind in my favor. He started to make his way back into the timber and i found an opening he was heading into. As soon as his shoulder broke into the opening i bleated. He stopped slightly quartering towards me, i buried the 20 yd pin and released. The arrow looked perfect. I called in the reinforcements and gave him about 20 min. The tracking was perfect. No more than 2 feet between blood and it got heavier and brighter the closer we got. About 50 yds or so and there he was. What a great experiance. The 100 grn muzzy through the heart did the trick!

That buck is alright i guess.... You could have found a bigger one... Maybe you should have tried some of that doe in heat stuff. Haha awesome buck .. Good story.. Now lets go moose hunting!! Jeeze

Haha, im definitely ready for a little moose action. Thats going to be a hell of an experience! I cant wait to hear the ole 300wsm bark!
