Title: ALL gates including Port Blakely 100 line open for modern?
Post by: Yelm hunter on September 18, 2013, 10:43:44 AM: I just heard that the Lease fell through for the hunt club that was trying to lease the Port Blakely fell through and because of so many hunters complaining the gates were going to be open for modern rifle?? Is this true? Has anyone else heard this?

Post by: tater77 on September 18, 2013, 11:03:10 AM: I have heard that PB will not be doing any land leases next year due to public pressure. Even if the lease did fall thru, I don't think the gates will be open as they were not the last few years.

Post by: Eli346 on September 18, 2013, 03:52:23 PM: It's always been open for walking or biking so if the lease fell through and the signs are down that should be the case. I don't think Port Blakely would bow to any outside pressure (although it may and surprise me) to stop the lease. I just think that the lessee had second thoughts and backed out so they said 'to heck with it' until next year. We'll see as only time will tell.
