Title: New shotgun
Post by: quackattack90 on September 18, 2013, 11:52:46 PM
I'm looking at getting a new shot gun pretty soon, either a Benelli SBE, Browning Maxus, or Browning Silver Hunter.  Does anybody have any of these and what are your opinions and reviews.
Thanks All!

I have a SBEII and it's been a great gun to me. I've never had it jam and the gun itself is very evenly weighted which makes it easy to shoulder. As expensive as all the new semi auto's are these days though you have to go in and check each gun for yourself and see which one fits you the best. You cant go wrong with a Benelli or browning both make awesome guns!

What about a Beretta Xtrema2 (with Kickoff)? I have been shooting one for a couple of years and haven't had any problems. Has adjustable shims and the KO will have lighter recoil. See if you can find someone who has one to let you shoot a few of your choices before you decide.

The Browning Maxus is the finest aoutloading shotgun in the world.
It has the best lineage and evolution.
It's the softest recoiling, and has the absolutely lowest muzzle rise.
I dig 'em.

My father has one....
Me I just can't afford it, and shoot just as good with an old 870.

If I was to pick a free gun? Browning all the way though.

I love my Maxus.  I’ve put over 3K rounds through it without a hiccup.  The gas piston spring broke somewhere around 2K rounds but it worked fine while broken and Browning replaced the piston assembly free of charge.  It reliably cycles any and all ammunition that I’ve put in it.  It comes with a shim kit to adjust the LOP, cast and drop.  I use it for everything from quail to geese.

I have the browning silver and love it honestly dont see much difference in them at all besides the weight the maxus is lighter and the bolt slide material , I was also looking at the sbe but loved the way the silver fit my shoulder out of all of them, IMO go try them out and go with what fits you best not with whatever's one else is shooting they are all great guns

I have one of the original Benelli Super Black Eagle guns that has served me so well I bought a SBEII 2 years ago. I love them both. My son gets the original that has had easily 15,00 rounds thru it. You can't go wrong with any of the high end semis if you are willing to shell out the money. Find which one feels right for you and go for it. You will not be disappointed.

Nothing good happens after midnight. Work proves it by keeping me up this late. Still telling your story and showing the pics. What are you doing awake?

Get a benelli and you wont regret it. I shoot an M2 and it flat out works. Several thousand ran through it. Cleaned it maybe 3 times. Also the benelli crio choke system is a very good factory choke for waterfowl hunting, I like the modified

I have all three.  They are all great guns.  I still shoot the benelli.  It is by far the easiest to clean and take apart.  It's the inertia system that keeps it simple.  Everyone that mentioned seems to like their gun.  After shooting all three I still like my Benelli best.  I also like shooting my Winchester SX3.  Just a good shooting gun.  Find the one that fits well to your frame and spend some time learning how to shoot it and learn where you need to hold to shoot it or have someone help you adjust the gun to fit you with the shim kits.

The are all good guns. I have shot them all. I like the Browning guns myself. I shoot a lot and have the fortune to hunt most of the season. The Win SX3, which is owned by Browning, is a gun I love and shoot a lot also.
