I found elk this morning and this evening. but I bugled into probably 30 draws and got one week response today.
Here's hoping they kick into high gear Oct. 1.

Those Bethel bulls must have gotten a different memo, we didn't hear a single bugle all morning or day. Put on about 4 miles of hiking into our spot, plenty of sign of them being in there just no bugles :dunno:Just curious if you were on rd160 off the little rattlesnake Saturday about 1:00 pm?

I've got the Muzzle loader bull tag for Oct. 1. Pretty excited for it.

Firepin, did you load up on firewood just a mile or so down from your camp?
If so, I drove up on you just as you headed back to camp with a load of firewood.

I typically pay enough attention to see such a sign, and if I saw it I would have complied. Was it down by the barriers (the ones that don't barricade the rad because they're off to the side)?

I read this yesterday The "Sign" is a simple faded typewritten paper stating road between the barrier and the top is closed to traffic due to public safety which is a crock and sort of stated that severe fines would occur. Of course the fancy new Discover Pass signs are everywhere, And for the first time where I camp At the old Ranger Station on the 1500. Hunt-wa Guys stop in if you want to commiserate! Big Motorhome with a Seagull will be there till end of Season BTW Came over Chinook at 1:30 sun 6 in snow on top and snowing hard 34 deg and that was before the storm really blew through snow level seemed like about 4500'Did not read the sign?
