Title: Beaver relocation priject
Post by: eburgtrapper on September 22, 2013, 08:47:33 PM
I don't know if many of you fellow trappers are dealing with this, in my area(Ellensburg) it has greatly change my business as a Nwco. The state is doing all the beaver removal for free and taking every job. Even long term relationships with the irrigation districts. Has this effected any of you guys?

I have to think of the places they are releasing them, if it was a good spot there would already be beaver there. It is either poor habitat or it's a buffet for cougars. Likely a little of both but I know where I am at beaver don't last long in a small stream anymore.

Like relocating skunks.

Your moving an animal that is creating a problem so someone else will have the same problem. Problem perpetuates itself for years before the right folks catch on. By then it is too late. Then everybody has the same problem.
