Title: Toutle unit
Post by: Moosebobb on September 24, 2013, 04:47:43 PM: How are the odds for getting a cow I a couple days, I don't have much time so I'm not sure Im going to go down for the hunt.can anyone give me any ideas where to go, it's a 5 hour drive for me so I'm just wondering if it's worth my time

Archery is a little tougher just due to how close you need to get.

Archery guys must not have hit it too hard as they seemed un pressured. Be ready to walk as most gates are still locked.

Post by: Spuddieselwwu on October 03, 2013, 12:28:14 PM: Anywhere off the 4100 will work, just drive around and you'll see them. I'd get up high in the AM and start driving back down in the PM. Glass the clearcuts and edges of timber. You shouldn't have a problem. I drew the rifle tag last year and hunted two days. First day was pissing rain and gusts up to 50mph, second day was clear and dry - found a few herds an picked on off. Shoot uphill, not down for easier packouts. :)
