Taking out a new hunter this sunday for grouse. He just finshed his hunters ed and got his license. My friend has accompanied me on many duck and grouse hunts in the past getting a feeling for it and some mentorship. He has decided to take the plunge this year and it will be great to have another shooter there for the follow up shot :chuckle:

Good luck out there! With this weather you should see a few. Post some pics!

Looks like it may be a little wet this sunday, I have never hunted grouse in the rain. Any tips on chaising these thunder chickens in the rain?

Went out in the wee hours of the morning with my labs and had a grand time. We walked many miles in the snow and below the snow line. Flushed 5 grouse but could only get one shot since the other 4 flew low over my dogs heads :bash: I ended up getting a young blues grouse and we will be eating him in a few hours  I found a snake that looked as if a bicycle had run over him and crushed part of his back. What do you make of it?

Looks like a tasty Grouse  But what's that white stuff all over the Ground?
