I wanted to go bear hunting and had it planned with a friend. It started to dump as predicted on the weather report. To go or not to go. We decided to go even though my husband though we were crazy. We had just had a down pour. We decided to just walk because the wind was blowing and pouring so sound was not an issue. We gave ourselves 3 hours, walking a loop I've taken on horseback numerous times. An hour into the hike we find 3 deer feeding within 10 yds. of us, watched them for a bit before they bounded off but only 50 yds. or so. We came up to them again. Fortyfive minutes later we are walking on a single lane gravel road each of us in a tire track when 3 more deer pop out of the brush. They come straight for us. The wind is blowing pretty hard and raining. They just kept coming....it appeared they saw us or something but didn't spook. I thought one was going to sniff me but she went to the side and started eating. They fed right passed us within 5 feet and never spooked. They kept looking back even after we started moving a bit still trying to figure out what we were. It was pretty cool. Saw 11 deer but no bear. A good evening in spite of the Typhoon. Might have been crazy to go out but it was better than watching TV. Can't wait to go again!
