I have searched and searched and searched for the answer to this question but I cannot find it anywhere. I drew a 2nd deer tag for colfax for a doe. I know that I can harvest a doe before the buck. But where I find it to be unclear is, do I need to go out and buy another tag before I harvest the doe? Or can I just use the transport tag I have now, shoot the doe, tag it, then go buy another tag and shoot a buck? I can't find this answer anywhere, or maybe I am not understanding the rules as this is my first time drawing a 2nd deer tag. Maybe you guys could help me before I go and call WDFW and ask.
Thanks guys.

you need to purchase your second deer transport tag. the deer tag you already have is not valid for the second deer permit you drew (so you cant go shoot a doe in your permit area with the hopes of tagging it with your general deer tag).

thank you very much

I think it blows that its another $66 (or whatever it is up to now) on top of the costs of the licenses but oh well. I would gladly pay it so that my hunting season wasn't finished before October.

Your first deer tag is approximately $25. Paying $68 for the second is a rip off. Especially since the areas with 2nd deer tags NEED does to be harvested.

thank you very much
Enjoy the tag....I think it was worth the $66 or so. I drew one last year and shot a blonde bear the second evening of my hunt then filled my doe tag the 3rd morning. It was neat to be limited to the whitetail doe and fill a surprise bear tag all in the same hunt. You never know what you might see. Good luck!

Yeah, I wish they just issued doe tags instead of second deer. I appreciate the help. I couldn't find anywhere that explained that in a way that I had a definitive answer. I just want some meat, so I will buy the doe tag.
