I rode along with my bigger little brother for a day of Muzzleloader hunting. He is a Gonzaga student, so time was of the essence and we were not picky. Still, this buck is probably bigger than 90% of the bucks that will get killed this weekend, and is his biggest to date; a great management buck for sure! To top it off, it was a great hunt on one of the most beautiful evening I have ever quartered a deer out on. I think you will agree this is a great Solvid FIY first with the smoke pole.
Here's the video:

My brother is the hunter, but he was using my Traditions 50 cal Hawken. I bought that thing nearly15 years ago for about $200. It has been much more reliable and likely to go off than many of the other smoke poles and in-lines I have been around that cost twice as much. He got to feel the nostalgia of a traditional style muzzleloader; I don't think he will ever go back!

Thanks. Here we used a Panasonic HC700V ( 2012) on the CamStrap head cam mount and a Panasonic TM90 (2011) for the second angle. Both camcorders are predecessors of the 2013 Panasonic 720, which is even better with some extra features.

Cool video and nice buck.
Also great to see the chukar in the video. I've been worried the chukar numbers are down, are you seeing good coveys out there?

Thanks. We have seen good numbers of Chukar this year so far. There was very little rain in april and may, so that may have helped; maybe hurt? Seems to be as good as last year anyway. Another covey flew while we were in the stare down, but not on film.

Thanks; we have a few elk kills on film. 2 are spikes and one 5 point, all with awesome footage. To be released soon! Elk show up really well with the Solvid Systems.
10/15 update: I am uploading an elk hunt as we speak. Check here soon to watch Shawn connect at 12 yards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGnORAoDowI (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGnORAoDowI)
