We have been updating our family history and my sister has been working on the genealogy aspects and getting pictures from family members. I just had an uncle pass away and he had shoe boxes full of family pictures and there was a bunch of my great grandmother that I have never seen. Found this great picture of her.

your great grandmother was probably tougher than most of us on this forum. that is really cool
-
what an awesome picture

Those old hunting pics are neat to see. Got any more to share?
-
Priceless! Wow
-
I bet those ain't gortex boats. :chuckle: Cool pic. Kinda makes you wish you could have hunted in those days.
-
I called my sister to get some more. My entire family used to be hard core hunters, so their should be some more great ones around. I think I am now the last of the hunters in my family other than my son. Maybe they all got smart and learned that it was less expensive to walk down to the store. :dunno:

Very cool looking foreword to seeing a few more if you can find them I love the old pictures.

I used to do it with military surplus gear and before that it was jeans and rubber boots. We would layer up with clothes and maybe throw a rain jacket on. That was what we hunted in. We came home when we were about froze, otherwise we stayed out and thought it was great.

I was going to say pretty much the same thing :lol4:
My friend's grandma killed a deer with a hammer....tough grandmas :yike:
-
My Granpa killed a bear with a ax, thought nothing of it. He'd just shrug and say " it was during the depression, we had to eat." Don't make people like that no more.
-
H2O don't forget the red and black checkered shirt and coat, and then red or yellow felt hat that you shaped how ever you wanted... Cold and wet but happy.

Saving Tallow on the wood stove to waterproof your boots......
