I drew a cow tag for muzzy and killed a cow. When I went to report it there were 2 elk tags to report on. One Antlerless and one general elk. I did the antlerless then when I went to the general it asks the same questions. Do I say I killed in both and have that elk potentially counted twice or say I didn't harvest in the general which I did? I don't want to leave one pending, and don't want to leave the impression I killed 2 elk. I'm pretty sure I only had one tag LOL

Give the same answers for the cow.

You killed it with your permit so it doesn't count for general season.

But you have to notch your general tag for it so i would give the same answers.

:yeah:

For a permit hunt you always use your one and only tag. If you count it for the general season, it's getting counted twice. Plus, would it be a legal harvest for the general season? If not there's no way you can count it for the general season.

I had a special permit last year, what I did was report the antlerless kill on the report for the permit, then on the general tag I filled it out the same (only hunted 1 area) but said I did not kill an animal on that report.
Both reports filled out, so no penalty this year, and only one kill total recorded for me that year.

I reported on my antlerless option and said that I did not hunt the general season. Seemed to be just fine. If you filled your draw permit just report on that. :twocents:

Technically I did hunt the general because if I saw a spike I would have shot it. I'll report I didn't harvest there.

And this is precisely why you can't rely on the harvest reports as they are confusing at best without any real explaination or FAQ section for the average joe who is trying to report correctly and honestly but the reporting section is a little confusing when you get a special permit.
