Gonna be in Walla Walla next week, mid-week. Hoping... if all goes well... I will have some time to kill, so I was wondering if anybody was willing to point me at some kid fishing in the area. A bluegill/perch/crappie pond would be ideal.
Wouldn't be a lot, just an hour here, an hour there. I have 2 boys, 7 and 9, both good at casting and handling gear. Looking for some fun fishing to use up any excess daylight we have. (They've spent time salmon fishing rivers, they're troopers, but I'm looking for something with faster action for them! So, probably not the steelhead opener.)
Any leads would be appreciated!
(Trade idea = We will be at a hotel with an indoor pool if you wanted to bring your kids after dinner to have a swim party!)

You may want to hook up with a guide and go slay some kings on the reach. Not to far of a drive and i guarantee they would remember that.

I bet they would, but there will be a more ideal age for that... 9yo had a 4lb silver right into 2" of water the other day, and his eyes were plenty big! Won't have that much time anyway. Just looking for fast "kid fishing."

Not much going on here right now for kid fishing. Maybe try the pond by Hastings for some left over planted trout. There's still trout in the walla walla to catch as well. Head up to McDonald rd or swegle rd. There's public access at both places. Summer and winter steel in the streams to.good luck

Try Bennington lake. Trout fishing with power bait and smother with shrimp oil. Head around to the other side of the lake. Always fun with my boys.
